This site is for the use of my students at TVU School of Foreign Languages. It began in 2010 as a means of supporting my students after I had lectured in Translation Theory in the Faculty of Cultural Studies at Tra Vinh University for two years. On the first class meeting, I asked the whole class if they had ever used an email and known how to use it, two out of 45 students shyly raised their hands. I immediately canceled the class, took them to the Internet café right in front of the Campus 4, and started my first class meeting by instructing these poor students how to create an email account instead of delivering a lecture on translation theory.
These students motivated me to write a book on the theory and practice of translation as I found out there is no usable textbook on the subject in Vietnamese.
These students prompted me to create this blog as one of the learning resources for them to read and download materials, or simply to find out a bit more about words.
This blog is thus to pass on some of what I’ve known to you, my students.
